Blackroom Audio is a San Diego studio built for artists who care about feel as much as fidelity. The front end gives you two different flavors from the jump: vintage style console preamps for grit, warmth, punch, and color, or clean discrete preamps for depth, accuracy, and all the detail without the extra sauce. With a treated room, a dedicated vocal booth, small and large diaphragm condensers, a boutique tube mic, and a boutique ribbon mic, the studio is built to capture performances the way they are supposed to feel. Blackroom Audio exists to help artists make records that sound alive, not overprocessed.

Owner and engineer Andrew Pringle brings a performance first approach to Blackroom Audio, shaped by over three decades of recording as a musician, producer, and songwriter. He focuses on helping artists feel comfortable enough to give a real performance, then capturing it with the right balance of tone, detail, and character. The goal is never just a clean recording, but a record that feels alive when it comes through the speakers.
